The Cournix Quail is a small bird that is used for egg production, meat, and as pets. They vary in colours, and are about the size of an average potato. The average adult weighs about 96-120 grams, making them popular at restaurants (As food, not guests).
They are flock birds, and like to stay in groups of at least one, as they will get lonely. They are easy to keep and don't need much space, about one square foot per bird.
They will eat almost anything that wild birds eat, including seeds, bread, and a little bit of vegetation.
As pets they are capable of drinking out of rabbit and guinea pig water bottles, if that is what they have grown up with. Eggs take about 14-18 days to hatch, and require an incubator because these birds rarely have enough wild instincts to do so themselves.
Male quails sometimes "Crow" like roosters do, but it sounds like a wild bird.

Both male and female Quails will make a variation of different sounds, including screaming, cheeping, and honking.

Hi Hannah!
DeleteGood question! You can get white quails, but not pure black quails. There are tuxedos though! Tuxedos are black with a white belly, kind of like a penguin.
